Cleanup Events Made Possible with City’s Neighborhood Small Grant Program

The West Washington Street group rented both a bulk item dumpster and a dumpster for yard waste. Neighbors worked together to load both, helping ensure properties remain free of clutter. The BPM² neighbors filled a 30 yard roll off dumpster, as well as two twenty-yard trailer loads of bulk items. The group is already planning another clean up event for September 4.

Organized neighborhood groups who choose to register with the City can apply for up to $5,000 in small grant funds annually to host eligible events. Since July 1, 8 separate neighborhood groups have submitted small grant applications for neighborhood clean up events, movie nights, and block parties.
