Downtown Temporary Road Closures
(University Ave. between First and Walnut; Chestnut St. between Main and University)
In order to prepare for the Honorary Christopher Oberheim street sign unveiling ceremony, road closures will occur in the Downtown Champaign area starting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2021.
• University Avenue will be closed First Street and Walnut Street
• Chestnut Street will be closed between Main Street and University Avenue
Bus traffic to the Illinois Terminal and emergency vehicle traffic will be maintained as much as possible, until 4:45 p.m., via staffed closures. The road closures are scheduled to end at 7:00 p.m. The City appreciates the cooperation of travelers in the area.
