Shooting Investigation: 2100 block of West White Street

On June 23, 2021, at approximately 12:18 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the 2100 block of W. White Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers learned a 14-year-old male had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

The preliminary investigation indicates a subject approached the victim inside a residential building and fired upon him. Police have recovered seven shell casings from the scene.

Any resident or business in the nearby area with exterior surveillance camera systems is encouraged to notify the police department. It is believed video footage may be of investigative assistance. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. Future updates may be provided as they become available.
