Champaign City Council, City Boards and Commissions, and City of Champaign Township to Resume Meeting in Person

Starting June 1, 2021, the Champaign City Council, the City of Champaign Township, and the City’s boards and commissions will resume meeting in Council Chambers at the City Building (102 N. Neil St.). These City meetings remain open to the public and those wishing to participate or provide public comment are invited to attend in person. The City will continue to telecast City Council, Township, Board, and Commission meetings live on CGTV (Comcast and i3 Broadband channel 5, U-verse channel 99) and live stream them on the City’s website at champaignil.gov/CGTV. With the return of public meetings to Council Chambers, the Zoom platform that was used to conduct these meetings virtually during the pandemic will no longer be used.

The return to in-person meetings is in accordance with public health guidelines and the Bridge Phase of the Restore Illinois plan. In accordance with current CDC guidance, individuals who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 do not need to wear a mask when attending City meetings. For the health and safety of others, individuals who are not fully vaccinated are asked to wear a mask when attending public meetings in City facilities.

We thank the public for continuing to engage with the City through its virtual meetings during the pandemic and we look forward to continuing to work with and hear from our residents as we transition back to more normal operations.
