The Champaign Fire Department responded to a fire inside an apartment at 407 S State St., Sunday, May 9, at 6:56 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire that was contained to a single apartment of this two-story complex.
Firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a first-floor apartment from the occupant. Once on the scene, fire crews reported fire coming from the front door of the apartment and a nearby window. Firefighters deployed a single hose line and extinguished the fire.
The cause of this fire is undetermined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported. The occupant will be displaced as a result of this fire.
