The Champaign Fire Department responded to a home on fire at 914 W. Beardsley Ave., Thursday, April 29 at 9:06 a.m. Fire crews rescued four occupants from this single-family residential fire.
Firefighters responded to multiple calls reporting the fire in the two-story home. Once on the scene, fire crews reported smoke and flames coming from the side and back of the residence. Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and entered the home to search for victims. Firefighters rescued four occupants from within the home. The fire was extinguished by 9:43 a.m.
The cause of this fire is undetermined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation. The four occupants were transported to area hospitals in critical condition. There were no firefighter injuries reported. The home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage.
