On Wednesday October 7th, NSD hosted its monthly virtual neighborhood leaders meeting. The meeting participants included 26 leaders from groups throughout the City. Participants were treated to a conversation with Kandace Turner, University of Illinois Associate Director of Public Engagement. Ms. Turner shared an overview of the Shield Program implemented by the University to safely return the University community to campus. Additionally, she provided the link to the University COVID site that provides updated information to the community concerning COVID-19 related matters. To provide alternative times for leaders to engage with our online efforts, NSD will be hosting a second meeting each month. The second leaders meeting for this month will take place on Saturday October 24th at 11:30 am. At this upcoming meeting we will review the University COVID site, and have a focused conversation with leaders concerning organizing challenges.
