On July 11th, the Southwood Drive Neighborhood Watch Group used City of Champaign small grant funds to
complete a neighborhood cleanup. The group ensured a COVID-safe event by dividing the neighborhood walking path into zones, assigning a small group of people to clean each zone, providing hand sanitizer and masks, and scheduling appointments for people to drop off discarded bulk items to the dumpster. The group also arranged for the dumpster to be placed in a private driveway as the City is not issuing special event permits to block off streets at this time. The Southwood Drive group’s creativity ensured a safe and successful event!
