The Champaign Police and Human Resources (HR) Departments partnered and presented a virtual Police Officer recruitment informational session on July 9, 2020, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm. This police recruitment is the second of four police continuous recruitment efforts – two in 2020 and two in 2021. Staff participating included Sgt. Geoff Coon, Sgt. Greg Manzana, Asst. HR Director Eric Reynolds, HR Specialist Karen Hampton, and HR Specialist Stacy Rachel.
Twenty-two applicants joined the virtual informational session. Participants were engaged and asked several thoughtful questions during the Q&A period at the end of the session. A few of the questions pertained to benefits, initial Police Training Institute training, field training officers, and specialized units.
The next steps in the second Police Officer continuous recruitment process is the written exam (deadline July 17) and the oral interviews on July 29-30, 2020.
