Arrest Made in Jan. 22 Shooting Investigation

On Jan. 22, 2020, at approximately 10:43 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the 100 block of Kenwood Road following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 25-year-old female with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to a lower extremity. The victim was transported to an area hospital and has since been released.

As the investigation progressed, Champaign Police developed information to identify the suspect in the shooting as Milton Davis, 25, of Champaign. On Jan. 24, the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office obtained an arrest warrant for Davis for the offense of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm. Bond on the warrant was set at $100,000.

On Feb. 7, at approximately 2:29 p.m., the United States Marshals Service along with the Champaign County Street Crimes Task Force arrested Davis in the 1200 block of Providence Circle without incident. He was transported to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office where he is awaiting future court proceedings.
