West Washington Street Drainage Improvements Receives U.S. EPA Recognition
On November 18, 2019, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recognized the West Washington Street Drainage Improvements as an honorable mention project under the “Performance and Innovation in Creating Environmental Success” program. Under this program, projects across the nation that showcase water quality improvements and public health protection are recognized for their excellence and innovation. The Illinois EPA nominated the West Washington Street Drainage Improvements for the award. The West Washington Street Drainage Improvements included the new detention basin at Glenn Park and the storm sewer improvements in the West Washington Street Watershed.
