Residential Fire – Holiday Drive

The Champaign Fire Department responded to a working fire discovered between the homes of 814 and 902 Holiday Drive, Tuesday, August 6, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. Fire crews quickly extinguished the fire found between the two homes.

Firefighters responded to a report from a passerby of a fire between the homes beginning to extend to both homes.  Once on the scene, crews encountered a fire between and on the exteriors of both homes.  The fire was beginning to extend into the garage of the home at 902 Holiday Drive.  Firefighters deployed multiple hose lines and quickly extinguished the fire.

The cause of this fire is undetermined as investigators remain on the scene conducting their investigation.  Four occupants of the home at 902 Holiday Drive have been displaced because of this fire.  There were no firefighter or civilian injuries reported.

The Champaign Fire Department reminds all citizens to maintain a working smoke alarm in their place of residence and to have and practice a home escape plan.  Smoke alarms can provide early notification when seconds count.
