Bristol Place Residences Taking Shape

The City of Champaign and its development partners are excited to share the latest construction and leasing information for Bristol Place Residences, located at the corner of Bradley Avenue and Market Street. This public/private partnership includes the City of Champaign, the Housing Authority of Champaign County and AHDVS, LLC. As of late July, Bristol Place Residences are well underway with the construction of 90 units, including 64 single-family homes, 26 town homes, and a community building.

Currently, 71 foundations have been poured, 59 units have been framed, 46 units have plumbing, 40 units have HVAC, 37 units have electrical, 36 units have insulation, 29 units have been dry walled, 14 units have been painted and 8 units have siding. Contractors also continue to work on installing alleys and streets in Bristol Place. The project is progressing well, and occupancy is expected to begin this fall.

As of late July, there are more than 500 households who have inquired about living in the new Bristol Place Residences. Two informational leasing workshops were held with a total of 36 interested applicants in attendance. Additional workshops will be held in late July and August. Applications will be processed according to the date and time received. Former displaced Bristol residents that meet the tenant selection criteria for lease approval have been offered the first opportunity to return to the neighborhood.
