Champaign Police Arrest Suspect in June 22, 2019 Shooting Investigation

Herbert Shah, Shooting Suspect Champaign Police have arrested Herbert Shah (pictured), 26, of Champaign, for his involvement in a recent Champaign-area shooting.

On Saturday, June 22, 2019, police responded to the 500 block of S. Neil Street at approximately 6:57 p.m. following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers canvassed the scene and found multiple shell casings and recovered a firearm in the flight path of the suspect. The shooting is believed to have followed a verbal altercation which turned physical in a parking lot outside a local business. No injuries were reported.

Shah is currently awaiting future court proceedings at the Champaign County Correctional Facility.
