Today, at approximately 10:18 a.m., Champaign Police responded to the First Midwest Bank, located at 812 West Springfield Avenue, for a reported bank robbery.
The preliminary investigation has revealed the suspect entered the bank, passed a note to the bank employee and then fled with an undetermined amount of currency. No weapon was displayed in the robbery, and no injuries were reported.
The suspect (picture below) is described as a white male, approximately 6’4” in height and 240 pounds. He was seen wearing a black hat with a black jacket and black jeans. He donned a fake beard.
Champaign Police are investigating the incident and no arrest has been made at this time. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Champaign Police at 217-351-4545.
