Father Michael Pfleger to Provide Keynote Speech at 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Countywide Celebration

Organizers of this year’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Countywide Celebration are honored to welcome inspirational pastor and activist Father Michael L. Pfleger as the keynote speaker at this year’s event.  This year’s celebration will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, at The Vineyard Church
(1500 N. Lincoln Ave., Urbana). Entertainment and hors d’oeuvres will be provided at 4:00 p.m. and the program will start at 5:00 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.

Father Pfleger is a nationally-known speaker who has been recognized multiple times for his commitment to equality and his passionate stance against injustice.  He is well known across the country for successfully leading several programs that have changed lives and impacted communities.  During his keynote address, Father Pfleger will speak about the impact of gun violence on communities and the responsibility of individuals to work together to combat this growing problem.  For more information about Father Pfleger’s work please visit saintsabina.org.
