UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Oct. 30 Shooting Investigation

On Nov. 1, at approximately 7:25 p.m., Champaign Police and officers from the Street Crimes Task Force arrested Jaliqwon Robertson in the 1000 block of West Maple Street in Champaign after a Crime Stoppers tip led police to his location. Robertson was arrested without incident.

Robertson was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Aggravated Battery with a Firearm following a police investigation into an October 30, 2018, shooting in the 900 block of North Third Street that resulted in the hospitalization of an individual with non-life-threatening injuries. Bond on the warrant was set at $500,000.

Although an arrest has been made, Champaign Police ask anyone who may have information on this shooting to contact police at 217-351-4545. Champaign Police reminds citizens that information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous. Caller ID tracking is not utilized by Crime Stoppers and conversations are not recorded.

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
