Today, at approximately 2:12 a.m., Champaign Police Officers responded to Walgreens Pharmacy, located at 1713 W. Springfield Ave., for a reported armed robbery.
According to reports, the subject entered the location at approximately 2:06 a.m. armed with a silver handgun and directed an employee to empty the front cash registers where he took an undetermined amount of currency. The suspect then fled on foot to the southeast, the same direction from which he came.
The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9’’ and weighing 170 pounds. He was seen wearing a light gray hoodie, dark gray pants and black colored gloves.
