On September 1, 2017 at approximately 12:44 AM, Champaign Police responded to the 1200 Block of N. McKinley Ave., after nearby officers heard multiple gunshots in the immediate area. When officers arrived on scene, police found a 19-year-old male victim suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Carle Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Champaign Police Detectives are actively investigating this incident and interviewing potential witnesses. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to contact the Champaign Police Investigations Division at 217-403-6900.
