As part of the City’s Chester Street and Water Street Improvements Project, the concrete pavement on Water Street from Logan Street to Chester Street will be rehabilitated. The City’s contractor for the project, Feutz Contractors, will begin work on this phase on Thursday, June 22, 2017, weather permitting.
Beginning on Thursday, June 22, Water Street will be closed from just south of Bailey Street to Chester Street. Access to the Illinois Terminal parking lot on the west side of Water Street will be limited to the southernmost Water Street entrance. Chester Street Bar parking lot will be accessible from Bailey Street only.
Please pay close attention to construction signs, traffic control devices and marked detours. Please do not park on the street near the construction site or in areas that are posted “No Parking.” Please proceed cautiously through construction zones and use alternate routes whenever possible.
