Champaign Fire Department Partners with WCIA & WCIX Staff to Install Smoke Alarms
Firefighters and staff from the Champaign Fire Department along with employees of WCIA and WCIX Television were out Friday, June 16, installing smoke alarms in a west Champaign neighborhood.
Thirty volunteers from WCIA/WCIX Television came out on their Founder’s Day to be part of the effort. Volunteers were invited into 39 homes to test smoke alarms and make installations as needed. The three person crews installed 106 smoke alarms and 40 combination carbon monoxide/smoke alarms.
