ATTEMPT TO IDENTIFY: Police Seek the Public’s Help in Identifying Bank Robbery Suspect

Today, at approximately 11:05 AM, Champaign Police Officers responded to Busey Bank, located at 3002 W. Windsor Road for a reported bank robbery.

According to bank staff, a suspect entered the bank, jumped onto the counter, announced it was a robbery and demanded money.  The suspect was given an undetermined amount of currency and the suspect then fled on foot in a northerly direction.  A weapon was not implied or displayed, and no injuries were reported.

Police are currently interviewing witnesses from the bank and immediate area. The suspect is described as a White male, possibly in his middle 20’s or early 30’s, approximately 5’10” in height with a thin build and strawberry blonde colored facial hair.  The suspect was also wearing a dark colored stocking cap, a blue colored Illinois hooded sweatshirt, dark colored sweat pants and tennis shoes.
