Police Seek to Identify Suspect Responsible for Two Armed Robberies

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify a man responsible for committing two recent armed robberies at area-gas stations.  In both incidents, the subject brandished a handgun to the store clerk and stole cash and cigarettes.  No injuries were reported.

Seen in the images below, the suspect is described as a Black male in his 20’s with a tall, thin build.  The first reported robbery occurred at Circle K, located at 1101 N. Mattis Ave. at approximately 11:30PM on Saturday, September 3 (pictured at left). The second robbery occurred at Circle K, located at 1713 W. John St. at approximately 9:00PM on Monday, September 5 (pictured right).

Crime Stoppers will pay a reward up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for this crime.

Champaign Police reminds citizens that information submitted to Crime Stoppers is completely anonymous.  Calls are routed to a third-party national call center that receives your information, completes a tips information form, and then passes the information to the appropriate law enforcement agency.  Caller ID tracking is not utilized by Crime Stoppers and conversations are not recorded.
