In order to facilitate installation of a sanitary sewer interceptor and pump station for Urbana and Champaign Sanitary District, Stark Excavating has closed eastbound Springfield Avenue between First Street and Third Street. The lane closure began on Monday, July 25, 2016, and has been extended to Friday, August 12, 2016. Eastbound traffic will be detoured north at First Street to University Avenue, east to Fourth Street, and then south to Springfield Avenue. During the closure, eastbound traffic will be closed between First Street and Third Street; however, westbound traffic will continue through the work area.
