In order to complete bridge repairs, Stark Excavating Inc. will restrict traffic on Mattis Avenue between Harbor Point Drive and Branch Road. A new wearing surface will be placed on the structure over the Phinney Branch. New sidewalks will also be installed. During the repairs, both northbound and southbound vehicular traffic will be reduced to one lane. Sidewalks will also be closed. The work will begin on June 6 and is expected to be completed by August 5, 2016, weather permitting.
The public is encouraged to observe all construction signs or plan alternative routes to avoid this work. Traffic delays may be encountered due to this project. Please slow down and use extreme caution while driving through all work zones. The City of Champaign would like to thank you for your cooperation and patience during this construction season.
