Champaign Police Announce Arrest of Murder Suspect

On Tuesday July 28, 2015, at approximately 7:11 PM, the Champaign Police Department arrested 21-year-old Brandon L. Collier of Champaign, in connection with the July 13 murder of 30-year-old Terron Jackson.

After follow-up from several leads, and two weeks of investigations, Champaign Police Detectives, with the assistance of the Champaign County State’s Attorney’s Office, obtained an arrest warrant for Brandon Collier on July 28 for the offense of First Degree Murder.  Within hours, Collier was arrested for the offense in the 300 block of E. Hill Street.  Bond is set at $1,000,000.

Collier will be arraigned in Champaign County Court and formally charged on July 29, 2015.
