Champaign Fire Responds to a Working Fire – 413 Hessel Blvd

Champaign Fire Department responded to a report of a working fire at 413 Hessel Boulevard on May 28, 2015 at 8:59 a.m. Upon arrival, fire crews found heavy fire showing from the east side of the structure. Fire crews deployed a single hand line into the structure in an attempt to extinguish the fire. Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish fire found in the kitchen area of the home. No one was home at the time of the fire. No civilian or fire department personnel injuries were reported. Champaign Police assisted with traffic control. The Emergency Services Support Team and The American Red Cross responded to provide housing for the occupants. The Champaign Fire Department reminds residents to always have working smoke detectors.
