UPDATE: Champaign Police Make an Arrest in Reported Shooting
On Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at approximately 5:00 PM, Champaign Police responded to Carle Hospital to investigate a shooting that occurred at an undetermined location in Champaign. The victim, a 38-year-old female, remains hospitalized in serious condition.
On Wednesday, May 27, 2015, Champaign Police Detectives continued the investigation into this incident. As a result, Champaign Police Detectives arrested 39-year-old Shantell B. Brown of Champaign. Brown was arrested for the preliminary offense of Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and was taken to the Champaign County Correctional Center.
