Public Work’s Forestry crews have planted approximately 117 trees on City’s rights-of-way this spring. This ongoing effort is largely in response to the removal of dying Ash trees impacted by the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB). The Forestry department sees a silver lining in loss of the City’s Ash trees by diversifying the species of trees in our urban forest. Many of the trees selected will allow for better preservation and maintenance, allowing them to thrive within the City.
