309 E. Green Street
The Champaign Police Department is continuing its investigation into two separate incidents that occurred between 3:00 a.m. and 4:40 a.m. on October 11, 2014 at the apartment building located at 309 E. Green Street. At this time, it appears these two incidents are related.
The first incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m., when a 20 year-old female University of Illinois student was awakened by a suspect fondling her while she was in her bed. The victim yelled at the suspect, and the suspect left the apartment. The victim believed the door was locked when she went to bed; however, there was no apparent damage to the door. The suspect in this first incident was described as a black male, between 19-23 years old, approximately 6’ or taller with a slender build.
The second incident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m., when a 21 year-old female University of Illinois student was awakened by a suspect sexually assaulting her while she was in her bed. After waking up, the suspect fled from the apartment. The door to the apartment was unlocked when the suspect entered it. The victim received medical treatment at Carle Hospital as a result of this incident, and was released after treatment. The suspect in this second incident was described as a black male between 18 to 25 years
old.
