Champaign Police Investigate Bank Robbery (First Midwest Bank, 812 W. Springfield Avenue)

Today at approximately 3:20 p.m., Champaign Police Officers were dispatched to a robbery at First Midwest Bank, located at 812 W. Springfield Avenue.

Bank personnel reported that an unknown man entered the bank and displayed a note, which indicated that he was armed with a gun. However, no weapon was actually displayed to the teller. The offender was then handed over an undisclosed amount of cash before he left the bank and headed northbound on foot.

The offender is described as a black male, in his 30’s, 5’07” tall, with a mustache and goatee; wearing a black ball cap with a Brooklyn Nets emblem, black Nike jacket with red designs, black pants and white shoes.

There were five employees were in the bank at the time of the robbery; however, none reported being physically harmed.
