The Garden Hills Clean and Green committee held a street clean-up on Saturday, May 24, 2014. David Oliver, Code Compliance Manager, was on hand to assist the group with litter removal along Paula Drive. The group was assisted by Councilmember Will Kyles and a group of youth from Restoration Urban Ministries. Prior to the clean up efforts, the volunteers were energized with donuts and watermelon in the parking lot of Fire Station 5. The group then proceeded to Arrowhead Lanes picking up loose litter along the way and clearing debris from storm drain inlets. The group will continue their efforts every month during the summer on each Saturday following the regular membership meeting.
