TEMPORARY CHANGES IN PARKING AT UNIVERSITY AND MARKET PARKING LOT (ILLINOIS TERMINAL) DURING RESURFACING
Champaign – In order to resurface the University and Market parking lot (Illinois Terminal), sections of the lot will be temporarily closed beginning Tuesday, May 27, 2014 for approximately two weeks.
- Tuesday 5/27/14 through Monday 6/2/14 – The north section of the parking lot (public parking) will be closed for resurfacing. Public parking will be available in the south section (not including the ramp – the section closest to Logan Street).
- Tuesday 6/3/14 through Friday 6/6/14 – The south section of the parking lot (permit only parking, not including the ramp) will be closed for resurfacing. The north section will reopen for public parking.
- The ZipCar located at this lot will be moved to a reserved parking meter located just south of the lot entrance on Bailey Street (off of Market Street) for the duration of the project.
- Permit holders should park on the ramp or at a nearby parking meter (Logan St., Bailey St. or 100 S. Walnut St.) with their permit displayed for the duration of the project.
The above schedule is weather dependent and any inclement weather will delay the resurfacing project. The closed sections of the lot will be blocked off by contractor fencing, which will designate which lot is open at the time if there are possible delays.
