The Cities of Champaign and Urbana are accepting nominations for the 12th Annual Champaign Urbana International Humanitarian Awards. Award recipients will be honored Thursday, September 25, 2014 at I Hotel and Conference Center, 1900 S. First Street, Champaign at 5:45 p.m.
The purpose of the International Humanitarian Awards is:
- to honor individuals whose work has contributed significantly to international understanding, cooperation, friendship and development;
- to recognize the richness of Champaign County’s international contributions, concerns and commitments in the following categories: agriculture, hospitality, humanitarian relief, human rights, research/education and trade and business; and
- to educate the public about the connections which exist between our local community and the global community
All nominations must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
Nominations should be submitted in writing, not to exceed three (3) double-spaced typed pages and mailed to: C-U International Humanitarian Awards, Champaign Community Relations Office, 102 North Neil Street, Champaign, IL 61820.
