A total of 602 service requests from citizens and City staff were recorded during April 2013 in the Public Works Department. This count increased by 102 (22%) requests compared to the 494 requests that were received in March. The chart below tracks the number of requests recorded each day by staff.
Seventy-one (12%) of the total number of service requests were submitted through SeeClickFix, a mobile phone application.
The City received heavy rainfalls during the month of April. As a result, requests related to flooding and sewer backups were numerous, and the Sewer Section received the most calls for service at 179 (30%). The Asphalt Section received the second largest number of requests at 158 (26%).Â
Despite the drainage issues this month, pothole repair requests were the most numerous at 134 (22%). Sewer backup calls came in second with 122 (22%) calls. Pick up dead animals was in third place with 29 (4.8%) and flooding calls were actually fourth with 25 (4%).
