A total of 285 service requests from citizens and City staff were recorded during January 2013 in the Public Works Department. This count increased by 112 (65%) requests compared to the 173 requests that were received in December. The chart below tracks the number of requests recorded each day by staff.
For the second month in a row, the Sewer Section received the greatest number of service requests. There were a total of 65 (23%) sewer-related calls. Internal calls requiring the attention of the Building Services Section was second with 48 (17%) requests for service. Third in number was the miscellaneous group of requests at 41 (8%), which are also responded to by the Sewer Section.
The greatest number of calls was 51 (18%) for sewer backups. Pothole repair was second at 31 (11%) service requests. Third was for requests for treatment of slick streets at 19 (7%) calls.
