Champaign Police Investigate Shooting at Mobile Super Pantry, 1503 N. Neil St.

Champaign Police Detectives are seeking help from the public in identifying at least two men involved in a shooting incident that occurred at the Mobile Super Pantry at approximately 2:30 AM today.

Officers responded to the business after receiving reports of multiple gunshots heard at the business and several cars leaving that area.

At 2:40 AM, officers then received information that a 22 year-old male, gunshot victim, had arrived at Provena Covenant Medical Center for treatment of injuries. His current condition status is unknown at this time.

From what investigators have been able to determine so far, preliminary information indicates that the shooting may have stemmed from a physical altercation that took place inside the business a few moments prior to the incident. Shortly after leaving the business, the victim was approached and shot by a second male, who was not involved in the initial confrontation.

Police are currently conducting interviews and attempting to gather more information. However, the Champaign Police Department needs the public’s help.
