On July 6, 2012 at 11:50 a.m., Champaign Police Officers were dispatched to First Midwest Bank, 812 W. Springfield, for a reported robbery.
Police received information that a man entered the bank and handed the teller a note while demanding money. The suspect implied having a gun, though witnesses report never actually seeing one displayed. The suspect then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency and was last seen eastbound on foot. No injuries were reported by bank employees.

Black male
Dark Skinned
Approximately age 35; 6′ 2″; thin
Long Dreadlocks in hair (this is possibly a wig)
The suspect was wearing:
Dark Blue Baseball Cap
Sunglasses
Orange, Brown, Tan plaid button-up shirt
Blue Jeans
A witness reported what appeared to be a red dye pack exploding while in the suspect’s possession, which may have caused red dye to get on his clothing and possibly caused injury to him while he was just east of the bank.
