Champaign police are currently searching for two armed robbery suspects who entered the Central Illinois Credit Union this morning and demanded money.
Police were notified at 10:25 AM that two men entered the credit union, and one of them displayed a handgun. They demanded money and then left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspects were last seen heading westbound from the credit union.
There were four employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the robbery. None reported being physically harmed.
The suspects are both described as black males in their thirties. The armed subject was further described as being stocky, wearing a dark ball cap with an emblem on the front, dark sunglasses, and a grey hooded zippered sweatshirt. The other suspect was described as being thin to medium build, wearing a Chicago Black Hawks ball cap, a blue longsleeved t-shirt and dark pants. (See below photographs of the suspects.)
Police are currently searching for the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.
