Internationally best-selling author Jennifer Weiner, praised for taking “chick lit” to a higher level, will be at the Champaign Public Library to talk about her life and her books on Sunday, July 25. A book signing, open to the general public, will follow her 2 pm presentation.
Weiner’s 2001 debut novel, Good in Bed, quickly rose on the New York Times’ bestseller list. Her next book, In Her Shoes, became a major film starring Cameron Diaz and Toni Collette. Her newest novel, Fly Away Home, will be released July 13.
Free tickets for the program will be available for Champaign residents to pick up starting Saturday, July 10, at 10 am, at the library. Tickets must be picked up in person, with a limit of two per person. Recipients will be asked to show proof of their Champaign address. Seating to see the program via live video feed will also be available. Any tickets still remaining on July 21 will be released to the general public.
To help fans get ready for the book signing, copies of Weiner’s books will be sold at the library checkout desk starting Friday, July 9. Book sale proceeds will benefit the library.
