The contractor has rescheduled the start of the demolition of the City owned building at 811 North State Street. Demolition is now scheduled to begin on October 21. Equipment will be moved on site and perimeter fencing will be placed around the site October 18 or 19.
Actual building demolition is expected to take about one week. A second week is anticipated to prepare the concrete and brick piles for crushing. An on-site crusher will be used to make granular material out of the concrete and brick, which will be used to fill the building’s former basement. All demo and site restoration is expected to be complete in approximately one month. The demolition contractor is Evans Construction with subcontractor Steve’s Trucking doing the field demolition.
