Beginning on Monday, July 9, 2012, McShane Construction will begin a project at 222 N. State Street that will require a road closure on a portion of Park Street between State and Randolph. The Eden Supportive Living project will renovate the existing building, add three stories to this structure and construct a new eight (8) story tower. In order to stage construction, both lanes of Park Street will be closed just east of State Street, between State and Randolph Streets. The closure will begin on July 9, 2012 and will reopen by April 12, 2013 to accommodate EbertFest 2013. Through traffic will not be permitted in the area; however, access will be maintained to Champaign County Mental Health, Champaign-Urbana Public Housing Authority, the Virginia Theatre, and Emmanuel Episcopal Church. The road will only be closed at the west end of this block and local traffic will still have access to properties and parking in the area via Randolph Street.
