The Champaign Community Coalition conducted a “Walk as One” event in the Garden Hills neighborhood on Monday, June 25, 2012, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Coalition members and volunteers met at Jericho Mission Baptist Church on Bloomington Road and were given “Walk as One” t-shirts. They canvassed the neighborhood, door- to-door, with two goals in mind:
1) To inform residents of collaborative community efforts that improve the lives of youth and their families, and
2) To share information about Champaign Police Department initiatives and programs, as well as relevant crime prevention tips with residents of the community.
