Local Law Enforcement Agencies Honor the Fallen

Each May during National Police Week (May 9-15), the nation pauses to recognize the service and sacrifice of U.S. law enforcement.

Local law enforcement agencies in Champaign County will also pause to honor men and women who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Champaign Police will pay a special tribute to their Fallen Officers, Thomas Dodsworth and Robert Tatman.

What: Police Officer Memorial Day Services

When: Friday, May 14, 2010 at 11:30 a.m.

Where: Westside Park (corner of Church and State St.) at the City of Champaign Memorial Site.

At noon, a police vehicle processional will travel to the Champaign County Courthouse for a countywide ceremony honoring fallen Champaign County and State of Illinois Officers.

We look forward to welcoming our friends, supporters and law enforcement survivors to these events.
