Hedge POP! Park now includes public WIFI hotspots thanks to the recently installed Mesh++ solar-powered WIFI system. Visitors can now stay connected to the Internet on their laptop, smartphone, tablet, and other mobile devices while enjoying the amenities the park offers. The WIFI equipment was configured and prepared by Anh Tran and Deonte Young (Information Technologies Department) and on-site installation assistance was provided by Jay Johnson, Michael Powell and Aaron Harrison (Public Works Department).
To connect to the Hedge POP! Park’s public wi-fi hotspots, browse the list of available wireless options on your mobile device, and select SSID “Champaign_Connects” from the list of available networks then enter “Welcome!” as the password. Signage is posted in the park to share information about the free public hotspot to park visitors.
