On Oct. 24, 2019, at approximately 12:34 p.m., Champaign Police responded to the area of Country Fair Drive and West White Street for a reported shooting. Upon arrival, police discovered a 28-year-old male in the nearby area of the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was taken to an area hospital.
The preliminary investigation revealed a suspect from inside a vehicle fired upon another vehicle while traveling.
There is currently no available suspect information and no arrests have been made at this time. The investigation continues and future updates may be provided as they become available.
