Champaign Police Invite the Public to Annual Police Memorial Ceremony

On Friday, May 17, at 11:15 a.m., the annual Champaign Police Memorial Ceremony will be held at West Side Park (400 W University Ave, Champaign) to honor law enforcement officers from around the world who have died in the line of duty. We will pay a special tribute to Champaign Police Officers Thomas Dodsworth (end of watch July 6, 1913) and Robert Tatman (end of watch November 25, 1967) who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving the Champaign community.

Speaking will be Champaign Chief of Police Anthony Cobb; the invocation will be given by Champaign Police Officer Russell Beck; and the proclamation reading will be given by Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen.

Guests are welcome to join us after the service as we form a motorcade to the Champaign County Courthouse for the county-wide memorial, starting at noon.
