Rob Kowalski, Assistant Director of the City of Champaign Planning and Development Department, assumed responsibility as the new Board Chair for Visit Champaign County. Visit Champaign County is the official destination marketing and management organization for Champaign County. Their mission is to advance the overall destination experience for the greater Champaign County area.
Visit Champaign County hosts and promotes important community-wide events such as the IHSA Football and Wrestling Championships, the 27th Mile of the Illinois Marathon, professional business meetings and tourism-related community-wide events.
The City of Champaign is a Founding Partner of Visit Champaign County and has long supported the agency in their mission of promoting Champaign County as a tourism destination. Rob had the gavel passed to him from outgoing Board Chair Shayla Maatuka from Dodd and Maatuka Law Offices in Champaign.
