On August 21, 2013 Property Maintenance Inspector Michael Lambert re-inspected a house on South Prairie St for progress on abating a case of hoarding. The owner is currently relocated to a rehab facility and allies have taken on the responsibility for cleaning up the house and grounds. Contract workers have spent nearly four weeks retrieving items of value and preparing them for storage. Several 12 yard containers of refuse have been removed during the process. The house, except for the kitchen and basement, is empty of refuse, but not cleaned. Another contractor is picking up the work and will complete cleaning and repairs on the house; then will clear the detached garage and complete landscape work. It has not been determined whether the owner will be returning or will move to an assisted living facility.
