House/Garage Fire at 205 N. Victor St.

Cause of fire: Investigators remain at the scene.
Dollar Loss: Heavy fire loss to interior and exterior NW corner of the Victor St. home. Garage is a total loss. All properties were insured.
Cause: The CFD Fire Marshal determined the fire to be incendiary.The case has been turned over to the Champaign Police Department for all further investigation.
UPDATES:
The original fire was located at a garage shared by two homes – 1701 W. Church St. (a rental home) and a vacant two-story home at 205 N. Victor St. The fire extended to the northwest corner of the Victor St. home – a distance of about one foot.
The rental home at 1701 W. Church St. was evacuated. Residents returned to the home.
A second alarm was called for additional manpower because of the complexity of the situation and the cold weather.
Two firefighters sustained bruises or strains from falls. Both remain at work.
